You guys are confusing me. I may be planning a trip out there to climb Mount Rainier and maybe I can climb this mountain near Squamish too. Send me a message if you would seriously climb there with me. No jokes! It looks really cool from the pictures. Thanks to Bill for posting them.
Chaps you can climb Rainier with this dude. He will be your guide and he's holding a spot in the hut for you.

It's about the beer. We have pub crawls. Booze cruises on bikes. All that stuff. Next time I come out I want to see the beer drinking huts. Show me the beer drinking hut fresh fish resturants.
On a side note the actually had a prostution ring busted on Millelacs about five years ago. They were scoring clients in fish houses. I don't know what to say about all that. It kind of leaves you dumb. Maybe they should change the name to Lake Amsterdam or Red Light Lake.

Dude, do not dis ice fishing. They are not just ice fishing houses. They are beer drinking huts. Sometimes we even drill holes and fish. You guys don't have the BWCA or Voyagers. Oh I'm sorry I mean mosquito play land where you get run with the timber wolves, moose fight the bears for blue berrys. And what about agate hunting on Superior. Hey, cant beat that one can you?
And about that ice climbing. What is it a two hour slog to climb the galcier cracks on Mt. Rainyest. I mean like consolidated snow that is sun melted and reconsolidated to rememble the shit that grows in the freezer of a 1965 kemnore fridge in a crappy rental property in North Minneapolis. Here in the land of frostbite falls we have to park our cars back a bit so we don't have dinner plates smashing the hoods of our cars. And hey just like you folks out there...there is always Canada. Great ice just north of the border here too. Nipigon Ice.. Hey...
When you guys can get out and climb the stuff in -30 degrees...talk shit then. Ok we're idiots but thats what it takes to make and keep ice for an entire season. Well...that and a bunch of snow, a rainy fall, the right type of cliff where ground water seeps out and freezes.
Forget it..I'm packing up the beer drinking hut and movin out.

Don't worry folks I live in Minnesota and MNclimbing.com folks don't like me either. Wait I don't think people like me here either...huh? Maybe DH will hang out with me. We can take long speed timed walks with our dogs together and just be friends..like friends do.. and just hang out and go speed climbing and stuff
I wonder if poor Chap is getting any sleep tonight? I'm sure he is up defending the fort.. umteenth cup of coffee in hand..another pot on the stove...

I would rather use a prusik. Unfortunately that is listed as "unacceptable". Apparently they are good enough for climbing but not good enough for "adventure".
Actually I'm kind of pissed about the whole thing. I don't own a pair of ascenders. I already paid for the entry fee and I find out later I have to spend $100 to go buy a freaking pair of ascenders to go up some stupid section that is probably a 50ft. 5.6 climb. I'm like...why?

I'm going to be in an adventure race in a week. There will be a ropes section. On the gear list Tiblocs are listed as an acceptable device for ascending ropes. I'm not real keen on getting on a rope where a bunch of people have been using Tiblocs. What do people here think?
