  1. Hello -

I need help! Currently in Afghanistan, its 130+ degrees and Im surrounded by mountains I cannot access. I will be home at the end of July for a few weeks and really would like to touch snow again, and perhaps get in a few turns somewhere - even if the snow is poor.

Any suggestions about where might be good? Will St. Helens have enough snow on it to make a descent???

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Justin

PS - If you have great advice it would help if you fwd to justinsnet@yahoo.com as my access here is poor and I dont access this site often.

  4. hi all - i am searching for the fritschi diamir titanal 3 AT bindings (blue/grey/white) that they quit making last year. i need this pair as they fit two different boots that i have. the new versions are slighlty smaller and do not fit one pair of boots that i have. Any one have a pair to let go cheap? Need urgently for an upcoming trip. Thanks! montdo@yahoo.com

  5. great shape, used 3x. K2 downhill 168 skiis with silveretta 500 size L. these fit one pair of boots i have but bindings are too big for other boots so i need a size medium. bindings are goin for 388.00 now, will sell skiis and bindings for 250. have BD ascension skins - will include for another 50 bucks, cut to fit the skiis.

PS - does anyone have a size medium for sale or know where i could find a better deal?

  6. hey -

ive got the Silveretta 500's on a pair of K2 superlight 168 downhill skiis. its a great set up except one problem - too big for my feet. the bindings come in S,M and L. I bought larges based on sizing chart but they are too big for a pair of boots I have. I need the mediums. I need to sell the bindings so I can get mediums. Goin for 388.00 for just the bindings right now, i will sell the bindings (used 3x) and the skiis for 250.00. I am in hurry as ive been invited to go on a long trip soon. I am a size 9 so at size 11 they would be perfect for you.

  7. Hey thanks for the response

I still might try on principal - time and weather and etc. Im used to pulling on mank. Im originally from MT and the principal looks like a montana mountain in every way.

Wow - first four pitches - congrats! Assuming you did the franco-argentine, how was the first 5.10a pitch? was it really 5.10a, and how protectable was it? Did you do any aiding in boots or did you lead in shoes (or boots?)?

How long is the approach (time wise - I have the map...) to the base of fitz roy - looks like a short distance but looks liek it could be fairly technical and involved.

Could yu (would you) establish a base camp at la silla (base of the franco-argentine)?

Of both cerro solo and madsen, which gave you the most rewarding experience and views?

Sorry for all the qs but you are really my only resource.

Thanks - any info much appreciated. grin.gif

  8. Hey -

thanks for the response - why did you head up it? Were you making an atempt and bailed b/c of poor rock? I guess I thought it was a pretty mtn with a elusive hx and thus would be interesting. Did you actually do some climbing on the shale proper?

What did you climb down there? I am also interested in Fitz Roy, the north tower and aguja guillamet. Do you have any personal tips on any of these?

Thanks - I also want to jet to ushuaia for a few days - spend any time down there?

    Thanks!

  9. Hi All-

Plannin on a patagonia trip in Jan. Cuernos Principal looks good - I have been searching for beta for months, including a day in the mountaineers library, ordering ancient journals, and emailing people all over chile. It seems it has only been climbed twice and the first time is in question. I cannot find any more info - the old AAJ and AJ references give a simple one liner or so about it but dont give any beta. (This is actually pretty cool - its more exciting this way...) - but if anyone had any beta or any idea of what climbing on that black shale stuff thats stacked on top of the granite is like Id appreciate it.

    Thanks - confused.gifconfused.gifconfused.gif

I have a pair of Silveretta 500 AT Bindings that I have used once. I bought a size large, but need a medium, as they are now too big for another pair of boots I bought with a smaller sole/crampon fit.

    mountain gear sells for $$275.00

here is the address for the binding if you want to see it.

I will sell for $200.00 even.

    Thanks :

  11. Hey there - I have a pair of Siveretta AT bindings that Ive used once but am selling b/c they are too big. They are size large and I need to get a medium. They fit one pair of boots I have but they are too big for a different pair of my boots. I have smal feet. Let me know if youre interested.

    Thanks, good luck.
