  3. Hi, Has anyone summited Deravica? Specifically looking for the condition of the road from Decani to the TH. Used to require 4x4 but wondering if it's been upgraded. Cheers. Jon
  4. Thanks. PMed you.
  5. Hello, Does anyone know of good sources of info (in English) on routes to the highest summits in Norway, Sweden, and Finland? General travel guides have little to nothing. Cheers. Jon
  6. Hi, I read on summitpost that people attempt Copper (E Face) from a campsite west of Holden Village. What if you want to also do Fernow (E Ridge)? Is there a place to camp closer to the peaks? Cheers. Jon
  7. Greetings, Has anyone done a combo trip of Huckleberry and Chikamin and can offer advice on a place to camp where there's water (ideally not dropping down to one of the lakes)? Plan would be to come in via the PCT from Snoq. Pass and attempt Huckleberry on the first day then find a campsite and attempt Chikamin the second day and hike back to the car. Cheers. Jon
  8. Thanks. I tried on a TNF Blue Ridge. Horrible action on the waterproof zippers. No pit zips and the core vents were just a mesh lining in the back of the chest pockets which looked like it could easily rip. But the small was indeed plenty big. Ended up getting a 2011 Marmot Minimalist, also a size small that ran huge, accommodated 3 layer of poly pro, and might fit one more. Pit zips + a regular zipper with a storm flap. Much better than the BLue Ridge IMO.
  9. Could I get some advice about the fit for this jacket? The sizing chart says the chest for a small is 38" which seems like it runs a bit big for a small. But the description says "performance fit" which is supposedly a tight fit. I've got a TNF Mtn Light medium and it is plenty roomy. Wondering if I could get away with the Blue Ridge in a small (good deal online but only small available) and still be able to wear mid and heavy weight poly pro layers underneath. Thanks.
  10. Has anyone had any luck getting a Moss tent repaired there? MSR bought Moss then Cascade Designs bought MSR and promptly voided all Moss lifetime warranties. Cascade Designs gave me the number of Tent Repair Services in Maine but they're guessing ~$40 to replace a zipper slider on the fly. Could cost up to $75. Seems like a lot. Cheers. Jon
  11. What's the best way logistically to combine these 2 peaks - S route on Kaleetan and SE ridge on Roosevelt - on an overnighter? Is a car shuttle necessary? Thinking Roosevelt first day, camp at Gem Lake, then over Melakwa Pass south to Melakwa Lake and ascend Kaleetan day 2. Leave via Denny Creek to 2nd car. Is there a better way? Cheers.
  12. Probably looking like Sat, Sun, Mon; limited by work sched. Drive and hike in Sat to 8 mile camp, Glacier meadows or Snow Dome Sun, climb and head out Monday. I wouldn't bring skis. Not sure if snowshoes would be useful or overkill. Jon
  13. Did not pan out for this weekend so starting the search early for next weekend, either Fri-Sun or Sat-Mon, whatever looks best. Jon
  14. Anyone from Seattle thinking of Olympus this weekend, 3 days Sat, Sun, Mon? Weekend weather looks stellar yet again. Cheers. Jon
  15. I've got an old self-inflating pad that can be inflated without an apparent problem but in the morning it is almost flat. I submerged it in the tub after inflating it but didn't see any bubbles. I'd hate to buy a new one if it can be easily fixed. Any suggestions? Thanks.
