  1. Does anybody know where I can get parts for a DTS Tracker beacon? My on/off switch broke and BCA said that they don't have a service department. This along with no proof of purchase they won't replace it either. Derek
  2. I am going to be in Thailand in October and I have found myself with two or three weeks to burn. It seems like a great opportunity to do something in the Himalayas. Can anybody recommend any logistically straight forward peaks that can be done solo in this short timeframe? Perhaps an affordable way to hook up with other climbers, etc? What about other lists for climbers heading to Asia? -dstu
  3. Thanks for the info. It sounds interesting but given that .12 is more than a significant stretch I'll likely be putting the whacking off for a while.
  4. I tried finding the North Fork crag last weekend but I couldn't follow the directions as described in the old Exit 38 guide book. The trailhead is theoretically about 1 mile downstream of the last bridge at blazed stump, triple blazed tree and "possibly" a road marker. We found a trail that heads out to the river but it doesn't match the landmarks that are described in the book. Does anybody have any hints on finding the trail to the crag? The crag is visible from the bridge so it could be reached with a little bush wacking but a trail would be a nice perk. DSTU
  5. I found a small rock near the Wilderness Peak trailhead that may be worth about 10 mintues of ones time. It could be top roped and rated 5.5 or an easy 5.6.
  6. Somebody told me there is some rock on SR-900 out of Issaquah. I have driven the stretch dozens of times and never seen anything. Does any body know anything about this mystery rock?
  7. Is there a moderate route from the West Peak to the true summit? This might be an option if we take the Pinnacle instead of the White Salmon.
  8. Does anybody have any info on the White Salmon glacier or West Ridge routes. Beckey says that some ice work may be required on the top of the White Salmon. We're not planning on bringing any tools. The West Ridge will be our backup route.
  9. I have lost my LaSportiva Mountain boots somewhere between Vancouver, WA and Seattle. I last remember having them at Exit 38 this earlier this spring. I'm thinking that either they fell of the roof of my vehicle or somebody grabbed them from my garage. Anyway, I'll sport a 50 dollar reward for their return, more if needed. Thanks Derek Stuart
