It's moderated because I tried a similiar format before and left it open to anyone. People came in and F*'d up all the pics, posted under a dozen assumed names, and generally took something that could have been pretty cool and ruined it. Also, if I know of an area that has had a ground up ethic for 50 years, I can at least pass that on to seriously interested parties. Been to French's? Been to Bulo? Those areas have been established for a long time, and in the last five years unmoderated bolting and over-use has all but ruined them. I'm not the ethics police, but I think you guys know the kind of encroachment I'm looking to avoid spreading. I know there are also conscientious people looking to do GFA's and "adventure" climbs, not another clip-up McRoute. Those are the people I was hoping to get in touch with. If that pisses you off, if you're sure that I'm a pussy, don't join.
