Hi, Here is a pic of Yokum ridge taken last weekend from Illumination saddle - can you guys please please please tell if one of these arrows points to the right place to cross it? I bet for the upper one, but... Thank you sooo much (Oops, it's in attachment - how would I post a pic?.. Dunno yet...)

Now it's 6 miles hike up the road to the campground now, and then probably 1.5 miles to where the tree line ends. We camped there this Sat as strong wind did not let us set the tent any farther. Next day we spent hiking around the spur, practicing belays and enjoying the unexpectedly good views. Yeah, we played slackers this time There is enough snow on the mountain but it gets soft quickly as soon as sun hits the slopes, no fun, really! Good luck! Maria

We plan to go there this weekend, I have two questions about this route: 1. Is there a place to set up a 2 persons tent somewhere at 8,000, there is only a room for a 'gnome hole' on the ridge? We would rather camp higher then at the campground. 2. Do we really need ice tools, or these 15 ft of ice were 'extra'? Can anyone answer? Thanks a ton! Maria
