I am planning to head up to N.Cascades next week and hope to do some climbs on Liberty Bell and South Early Winter Spires. Since most of these climbs are doable in one day, I am hoping to find campsites in the area to serve as a base. Anyone know of any good options in the area for camping? I haven't seen much in the guidebooks re: camping options... -Mark

I tried climbing Leutholds on Friday night/Sat am (3/24). We reached the base of the route but had to retreat after my partner got nailed in the shoulder by a flying chunk of ice (baseball size). It was fairly windy and had been warm the previous few days so this may have contributed to the icefall condtions. We turned back from the base of the route at about 2:30am.
