Big_Mac
Heard about a fatality regarding a fall, a broken leg, emergency beacon and unfortunately a fatality due to exposure. Apparently the "partner had mild exposure but survived. This whole story does not make sense. Any person have more information? incident Saturday the 4th, spent the night and was then life flight'd out Sunday?
Big_Mac
A few clarifications on the accident. They were not hiking on Mt. Saint Helens, but a another peak nearby (I can’t remember the name). On the way back down the mountain at about 5:00 PM Saturday, Tom had a fall and broke his leg. She was comforted by the fact he was not alone. His friend stayed with him on the mountain throughout the night until help arrived around 5:00 AM Sunday morning. His friend had only minor hypothermia, and was able to hike off the mountain on his own. Tom was airlifted to Southwest Washington Medical Center, where he died. Patarero
Sad situation. Curious if the "beacon" was a spot.
