Heard about a fatality regarding a fall, a broken leg, emergency beacon and unfortunately a fatality due to exposure. Apparently the "partner had mild exposure but survived. This whole story does not make sense. Any person have more information?

A few clarifications on the accident. They were not hiking on Mt. Saint Helens, but a another peak nearby (I can’t remember the name). On the way back down the mountain at about 5:00 PM Saturday, Tom had a fall and broke his leg. She was comforted by the fact he was not alone. His friend stayed with him on the mountain throughout the night until help arrived around 5:00 AM Sunday morning. His friend had only minor hypothermia, and was able to hike off the mountain on his own. Tom was airlifted to Southwest Washington Medical Center, where he died.
