WELCOME TO THE CASCADECLIMBERS.COM FORUMS   02/03/18

We have upgraded to new forum software as of late last year, and it makes everything here so much better!  It is now much easier to do pretty much anything, including write Trip Reports, sell gear, schedule climbing related events, and more. There is a new reputation system that allows for positive contributors to be recognized,  it is possible to tag content with identifiers, drag and drop in images, and it is much easier to embed multimedia content from Youtube, Vimeo, and more.  In all, the site is much more user friendly, bug free, and feature rich!   Whether you're a new user or a grizzled cascadeclimbers.com veteran, we think you'll love the new forums. Enjoy!

Liberty Bell decent gulley

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know the condition of the decent gulley for Liberty Bell. Still snow/ice? Or can it be done in tenies?

There was a short section of snow right at the base of the gully before things get steep, but no snow higher than that. Totally fine to do in tennies; I had no problems over the past few days.

1. don't go so fast that you knock down rocks.

2. don't go so slow that are in the firing line that long.

3. when you think you are out of the way and still in the gulley, you are still in the firing line. there is no safe haven.

4. wear your helmet till you get out of the gulley.

I have seen big rocks roll down and get real close to friends. too close.

Thanks for the info. I know it can be icy if there is snow otherwise it just sucks!

You are correct - that place can fool ya, if you let your guard down.

The hell with that gully. I had a goat trying to chase me down it last year. I think I would have rather dealt with falling rock!
