Alpenthal Ski conditions

Recommended Posts

Yeah, I know I can go to a web site, but I find them misleading. Anyone got recent beta on coverage and conditions.

MAYBE WE SHOULD HAVE A SKI CONDITIONS forum. It would work for Back country as well as the resorts.

Not bad, kinda spring-like corn/slush (if you like that sort of thing). Coverage is thin but not atrocious.

Night operations very limited. Alpental closed at 4:00, just as I got my boots on, despite a posted close of 5:00. Summit West was running three lifts. I got bored and left just as a monsoon started.

If you like a mellow self propelled ski up in that general area then check out Inspiration over at Silver Fir. They are grooming that one run and then allowing fresh snow to settle. Makes for good turns in a so-so year. Lisa, Shasta, Hana and I had a great time and never saw a soul.
