new accommodation option, Smoke Bluffs, Squamish

Recommended Posts

Jon said I could post here ... I am paying for a six month ad in the side-bar. I acquired a house in the Smoke Bluffs this winter which was originally built specifically as a bed and breakfast, but never actually used for that purpose by either of the two previous owners. I am going to run it as accommodation for climbers from June. Initially just two B&B rooms plus a self-catering studio apartment. Pretentiously I am calling it Smoke Bluffs Lodge http://smokebluffslodge.ca/ ... with the hope in the longer-term to get permission to open up more space (Squamish council limits B&B licenses to two rooms) either in the same property or nearby.

The location is really perfect for people wanting a mellow climbing experience in Squamish. It is a few seconds walk from the main Smoke Bluffs cliffs, which in the summer gets the sun until really late, so you could climb or boulder around the Chief during the day, chill out then still grab a few pitches in the Bluffs before sunset. Or you could play in the Bluffs all day. I am posting here as I envisage the place as ideal for people weekending in Squamish out of Seattle.

The aim is to make the place feel more luxurious then the standard Squamish motels and price accordingly. But while we getting started the rate is $80 for a room for one night in June then $110 through the peak season in the summer. Right now we are only booked during the Test of Metal and Squamish Valley Music Festival so lots of options. We are definitely open to negotiate price for longer-term stays.
