WELCOME TO THE CASCADECLIMBERS.COM FORUMS   02/03/18

We have upgraded to new forum software as of late last year, and it makes everything here so much better!  It is now much easier to do pretty much anything, including write Trip Reports, sell gear, schedule climbing related events, and more. There is a new reputation system that allows for positive contributors to be recognized,  it is possible to tag content with identifiers, drag and drop in images, and it is much easier to embed multimedia content from Youtube, Vimeo, and more.  In all, the site is much more user friendly, bug free, and feature rich!   Whether you're a new user or a grizzled cascadeclimbers.com veteran, we think you'll love the new forums. Enjoy!

Mt. Rainier via Gib Ledges or Mt. Hood - 1/31-2/1

Recommended Posts

Thinking about climbing Mt. Raininer via Gib Ledges. Last year I was able to go to the bottom of Chute and turned back because partner didn't feel good. If condition is OK, I want to try it once again.

Another alternative would be Mt. Hood. I never done Mt. Hood. So any routes would be OK.

Hey,

I'm down in Portland and have the weekend free. Up for a quick run up Hood? Read some TR's and south side looks in good shape. With an alpine start should be pretty easy. I could start early saturday or Sunday...

I've been climbing for a few years now. Done winter ascents of two 14er's in CO, Mount St Helens; summer ascent of Rainier, some climbing in the Chugach range in AK; doing Denali this summer.

Interested? Get back to me asap. Thanks!
