Not saying that that a better designed bridge couldn't have prevented this...but that was the case. The oversized load would have made it through ok if it was driving the inside lane. Â Human error. Â But, thats neither here nor there with the bridge in the drink. Â It will be interesting to see how long it it before there is even a temporary solution in place for this particular roadway/bridge. Probably Rudy should speak up about it, since it's his field and he would be one of the most qualified people to talk about the subject. My thoughts are, that if one truck can collapse the bridge, it is an outdated design. It also could be a combination of the design, fatigue of the material and human error.
