Trip: Ski touring in Grad school - all over the PNW

Date: 5/20/2013

Trip Report:

This past fall I moved Spokane to continue PA school at UW. Previously I had a very flexible work schedule (8 days off in a row) and was living at Alpental. But now I am a weekend warrior and in class 9 hours everyday with numerous evening and weekend clinics, workshops, etc. Needless to say, I was a bit worried about my skiing opportunities this winter. Thankfully I met some great new ski partners and got to explore lots of new areas in the PNW that I would have probably never been to otherwise. Here are some pictures from my past winter.

All pictures by me, Kevin Oberholser, unless otherwise noted.

John/Pete/murse: As of my last meeting, it sounds like I'll still be doing a bunch of clinical rotations in the Wenatchee and Chelan area, most likely jan-june time frame.

murse: The Mission Mountains are N of missoula, outside of St. Ignatus. The westside is Indian land so it requires a permit, which can be purchased at the town's gas station. Takes a healthy climb to get into the range. Let me know if you have questions.
