miladugga
A couple of us are heading to L-worth this week. Usually we camp at 8-mile, which is still closed. Any ideas from those with knowledge of the area on where to camp? Much appreciated!
laurel
I thought when the campgrounds were "closed" for the winter you are still allowed to park on the road and walk in to the campground (with no facilities and no $). Is that not the case this year?
miladugga
Checking with the FS you are right, thanks for the idea.
kroc
We went two weeks ago and there are some dry sites. Free. Outhouse unlocked, bring your own TP, water, and throw your trash in the icicle.
genepires
, and throw your trash in the icicle. Â maybe a typo but it is not a good idea to throw trash in the icicle creek. there are big trash cans at the corner gas station when first entering l'worth. TronaldDump
Usually i tend to take everything literally as well, but I'm guessing (hoping) that was sarcasm.
kroc
Yes sarcasm, we did not throw anything into the icicle. It was April first ya know.
Cyclopath
We went two weeks ago and there are some dry sites. Free. Outhouse unlocked, bring your own TP, water, and throw your trash in the icicle. Â If you do this, the bears will eat you.
miladugga
Two other sites in the whole campground were in use, it was extremely luxurious. We brought our own water and used the bathrooms at der safeway. The trashcans were unlocked and the icicle remains pristine.Highlight of the trip was a sunny day climb of Catapult and Canary.
