WELCOME TO THE CASCADECLIMBERS.COM FORUMS   02/03/18

We have upgraded to new forum software as of late last year, and it makes everything here so much better!  It is now much easier to do pretty much anything, including write Trip Reports, sell gear, schedule climbing related events, and more. There is a new reputation system that allows for positive contributors to be recognized,  it is possible to tag content with identifiers, drag and drop in images, and it is much easier to embed multimedia content from Youtube, Vimeo, and more.  In all, the site is much more user friendly, bug free, and feature rich!   Whether you're a new user or a grizzled cascadeclimbers.com veteran, we think you'll love the new forums. Enjoy!

I think this Dragontail descent has you beat for style points.

Nope. Not at all.

Agreed. They went off the side towards the Upper Enchantments - a lot less risky than going over the N aspect.

The rock in the runnels there is difficult to find a good anchor. I remember one of my rap anchors being extremely frightening, but somehow held up. Sounds like you guys had quite the adventure! Glad everyone is ok.

Sick ski!

:rocken:

Thanks Ross! I was hoping you'd show up. I've never met you, but now have a deep appreciation for your pioneering descent. Well done!

When people are skiing shit I don't even want to climb, I just assume it is a ripple in the universe. But  for sure.

You mean Dragontailish descent, they started from the shoulder above Asgard Pass, not the summit. Still, really nice aerial shots of the NE Buttress area, thanks for posting that up.

Hey, thanks to the OP for posting this TR, great stuff.

Somehow just seeing this now. The TAY story is an AMAZING report of an amazing achievement. The meat of the story is all in the runnels, so this is just as much an alpine story as a skiing story.

TWO failed anchors at night on a long steep route a long way from the road and no serious consequences? Your guardian angels were definitely working overtime. Glad you came out to tell the story.

2.5 min of paragliding isn't remotely in the same league IMHO.

Hey thanks Rad. Reading it again seems like it happened a few years ago, although every time I bump my fingertip against the rock, it's a sharp reminder of the ordeal. I wonder how long frostbitten digits take to lose that sensitivity?
