I am going to buy one. Feel safe now?

I fully support background checks so the mentally ill, such as yourself, are not permitted to own these.

I get it. The shooter was mentally ill, so he shouldn't have been empowered to commit mass murder like you are.

Oh, I'm sorry. I misunderstood. Let's see if I got it right now: A person shouldn't be empowered to commit mass murder with guns like you are, if everybody knows that person is mentally ill. Ok, sure, nothing crazy about that idea.

Wait, wait, that's what I said before. Why are you confused? Such a simple statement... yet... Hey, KK, are ya crazzzy? Come on, let's talk, right here, in private. Just between us, your secret is safe here. Don't worry. As Layton demonstrated, keyboards don't kill people, not even when set to automatic. All safe here. Like, warm and fuzzy. And I think yer mom is here too. She says you been a bad boy. Is that true?

Hold still.

Your statement shows elementary lack of any shred of knowledge in the subject matter. The gun ownership in Poland or other countries of soviet block was restricted, but not outlawed. As the matter of fact my dad owned 3 pieces of firearms (12 and 20 gauge and 7.62 with a scope) - all legal. He had to take a safety class, pass a safety test, register them and keep them in a locked cabinet. So as usual you are just full of shit.

Then ya be, shoulder to shoulder, marching tall with Ka-bone, ready to fight off the United States. That's cool, and I thank you for your service.

Btw, Ka-bone, your mom called. She's concerned about your laundry detergent. Are you using Tide like you promised?

There's no reason to repeat the numerous mass school shootings in the U.S. You can Google that well enough. It's sad. Very sad. To say that the easy access to firearms plays no issue in this is intellectually dishonest, naive, or just a plain lie.

We are drowning in availability of guns. How to solve it? I don't know at this point.

I don't know what to do either. But we can reasonably be sure of this: The situation is going to get a lot worse.

I recall a time when duck-and-cover had a whole different meaning. Back then, as we understand now, no "duck-and-cover" would have saved us. Good that things are different now. Oh, wait...

1791 solution - how many kids can you kill in 5 minutes w/ a musket?

obvious point, though, is that human's are fucked up angry creatures, like plenty of other species - these frequent explosions are like any other natural events such as earthquakes, sometimes big, sometimes little - the mall shooting in oregon a good example of a small one, this one not so much (the difference? that cruel bitch randomness?) - our ability to predict is probably equally flacid, our ability to mitigate the dangers of an event hopefully better...

Did this fellow get these firearms legally? Was he being treated for/known to be mentally unstable? That's where you start.

Where you don't start is with the usual knee jerk reaction, replete with conclusion-jumping and politicizing.

You are a total asshole, the lowest of the low, the scum of the earth. You same on the same shit eating level, as people who protest during the funerals. Go fuck yourself.

Legally, illegally - either way I'd say it is not working. Tell one of the parents you think more guns is the answer.

I never said more guns is the answer.

If there are laws on the books that this guy violated to obtain the weapons, then gun control clearly is not effective, is it?

If this guy has a history of mental instability and was allowed to stay free and clear (rather than be treated, medicated or possibly institutionalized), then clearly there is a problem there, isn't there?

To fix what went wrong you actually have to identify the failure first.
