We have upgraded to new forum software as of late last year, and it makes everything here so much better!  It is now much easier to do pretty much anything, including write Trip Reports, sell gear, schedule climbing related events, and more. There is a new reputation system that allows for positive contributors to be recognized,  it is possible to tag content with identifiers, drag and drop in images, and it is much easier to embed multimedia content from Youtube, Vimeo, and more.  In all, the site is much more user friendly, bug free, and feature rich!   Whether you're a new user or a grizzled cascadeclimbers.com veteran, we think you'll love the new forums. Enjoy!

Trip: Bare Mtn - fully-assisted ascent/campout -

Date: 8/22/2012

Trip Report:

What were my parents thinking?!

I do realize that at the moment I am fully dependent, but I can barely focus on objects 12" from my face, let alone enjoy summit views from 5300ft!

What can I say, I slept through most of the hike up and down, and missed out on all the in-season berries that they ate. I know I can't really eat them anyway and let's face it, I could've been just as content hanging out in the corner of the apartment, drooling all over myself and filling my diaper.

Regardless, I'm getting an early start on my tick list (and TR count on this fine site)!

I am sure one day I'll appreciate this more but I hope our next trip is to a warm jacuzzi withan open milk bar.

Thanks folks

Sweet! Brings back memories of my daughter's first backpack at 9 mo. and our similar attempt to sleep three under the bag. She had a blast rolling between us all night, but no one got much sleep.

She's 15 now and carries her own bag.

I'm happy to see that you're getting an early start in the mountains. You're lucky to have two strong, enthusiastic sherpas until you get on your feet!

Hey good for you guys! That baby deserves the finest alpine air. Good on you for delivering it.

Sounds like you had to aid this summit Silas. No worries though, I'm guessing you'll be back for the free ascent.
