FFSummers
Is that horrible shit smell coming from the toilets down at camp Muir? All we could smell for the final 1000-2000ft was crap. My friends thought it was probably up drafts from camp Muir. Anyone else notice this? We weren't even climbing together but we all laughed about the same weird smell when we got back to camp. I didn't see enough crap on the route to justify that strong smell, plus I'd think any crap up that high would be too frozen to stink. The smell was pretty strong........and, No, I wasn't smelling myself.
rob
did it smell like sulfur? You were on a giant volcano, you know.

Fromage
Climb Mount Baker via the Easton Glacier. Stick your head over the crater rim before you hop onto the Roman Wall and take a whiff. Should smell about the same. Part and parcel of volcano climbing. To paraphrase Apocalypse Now... Â "I love the smell of hydrogen sulfide in the morning!" JoshK
I remember taking a little bivy nap on the north side of Adams years ago and the smell was so strong it almost made it hard to sleep. Just part of the volcano experience: shitty rock, shitty smell.
Choada_Boy
If there is H2S in the air and it doesn't smell, there is a good chance you are about to pass out and die.
