jrwclimbs
Early Tuesday morning, March 13, 2012, around 4am, our Equipment Shop in Fairhaven was burglarized by 1 or 2 people, likely males, and likely climbers... Items that were definitely taken were: Splitboard Snowboard: Voile 171 Mojo RX, with Voile Lightrail bindings. These have "AAI" etched onto the top of the boards, along with a round AAI sticker near the tail. (Part of our rental fleet) Whitish and brown, with a nature/tree/winter theme. Lightrail's have the orange quick release strap, so very easy to notice. The bindings also have "AAI" etched in them. Packs: -Mountain Gear BMG 105, size Small (black and white) -CiloGear Worksack 75L, size Small (black and yellow) Ice axes: -Black Diamond Raven Pros, many lengths -Petzl Snow Walker many lengths -Petzl Sum'Tec Ice Tool (w/adze) 59 cm -Petzl Sum'Tec Ice Tool (adze and hammer) 52 cm Ice Screws: Black Diamond Turbo Ice Screws, 22 cm Clothing: Outdoor Research Crocodiles, red and black, size Medium and Large Outdoor Research Revel Jackets, orange, Medium and Large Gloves: Outdoor Research Alti Gloves, medium Outdoor Research High Camp gloves, large and XL Footwear: Kayland Apex Rock mountaineering boots, men's 11.5 (likely one of the thieve's sizes, as he appeared to have taken the time to find his size and style he wanted) Intuition Denali heat-moldable liners for plastic/double boots, men's 10 (Stores that offer heat molding, please keep an eye out for boot fitting requests!) Snowshoes: MSR Lightning Ascent, black, 30 inches Miscellaneous: JetBoil Sol Ti stove (Titanium) MSR windscreens There may be more, but that is what we've come up with so far. The Bellingham Police Report number is: 12B 08 776 Thanks a ton for looking out for these items for us! Spread the word, too! We're working on an award that leads to arrest and conviction! chris54
Do you guys mark all your gear with AAI? Just wondering to keep an eye out. That so much gear you think it would have to turn up at some point.
jrwclimbs
Hi Chris, The Voile Mojo splitboard is marked, as it was part of our rental fleet. The rest was from our retail floor. Sadly, much of what they nabbed just came in for the spring season! Thanks for looking out for us! Jeremy
billcoe
Wow....total suckage. If anyone sees any of their buddies with new gear and you are wondering how they could afford it: turn them in/report it. I'm not in your area but will keep a look out. Hope you catch and convict them and get all your stuff back.
jmk
I would check craigslist and ebay for the items. The thieves might try to sell them off in the next few weeks.
Whatcomboy
Hey I know stealing is wrong and they deserve jail time but you got to admit the thieves have good taste in gear.
genepires
someone with photoshop skills should create a image of the perp wearing all the gear they stole, then post the wanted posters on local glaciers. I mean small packs and med to large outwear. Must be short torsos with large hands and feet. Damn near troll looking.
