WELCOME TO THE CASCADECLIMBERS.COM FORUMS   02/03/18

We have upgraded to new forum software as of late last year, and it makes everything here so much better!  It is now much easier to do pretty much anything, including write Trip Reports, sell gear, schedule climbing related events, and more. There is a new reputation system that allows for positive contributors to be recognized,  it is possible to tag content with identifiers, drag and drop in images, and it is much easier to embed multimedia content from Youtube, Vimeo, and more.  In all, the site is much more user friendly, bug free, and feature rich!   Whether you're a new user or a grizzled cascadeclimbers.com veteran, we think you'll love the new forums. Enjoy!

Cross country skiing on hwy 2

Recommended Posts

Headed over to peshastn for a party and would like to hit up some kick and glide or maybe so low key road touring. Anyone know conditions well enough on the east side to suggest something (a flattish, not snowmObiled road w/ snow) between stevens pass and rayrock springs?

Anybody know what chiwachum cr trail is like right now?

How about smithbrook?

Thanks!

Dave

Smithbrook would fit the bill but may be some snowmo activity. Chiwakum Cr probably OK but might have some coverage issues. If you want to drive the few miles to the end of the road, White Pine would be perfect.

Smithbrook was nice last Sunday, we toured up a couple miles and then over towards Lichtenberg. Only heard one snowmobiler all day, I don't think it's that popular for them. Any road you get on right now is gonna be icy though.

Not sure about other options.

Smithbrook is great. If you are up for taking off your skis and crawling uphill for about 200 feet, you can leave the road at the hairpin and head up and left to visit Lichterwasser Lake. It is quite scenic.
