corvallisclimb Posted July 20, 2011 Share Posted July 20, 2011 Opal is not really a "sport" climbing destination. And the wall is in fact in the Opal Creek Wilderness. Not to mention it would be a MAJOR pain in the ass to try and go top down there. There are some other walls in the area that may yeild some more quality sport climbing in a non wilderness area. RS2 Posted July 20, 2011 Author Share Posted July 20, 2011 Yeah, that might be a problem being in the wilderness area. But there is lots of potential for some hard bolted routes. Especially through the roof. If I got permission for a couple bolted anchors at the top, it wouldn't be that hard to set some fixed lines and work some quality routes.
