St. Helens Conditions

I am heading up there in the morn for one more peak before me hardware removal surgery on Wednesday.

Has anyone been up there in the past couple days? I am mostly wondering if I need the slowshoes or if I can 'pon from the car w/o post holing like dick in an 82nd ave hooker.

I knows its going to be slushy and wet, but I can't ski with this hardware in anyway.

Thanks in advance!

the 41 and mostly sunny forecast was way off. It was wet and icy.

The snow lower is packed down on the trail and there was only a little post-holing on the way down after it warmed up; none at all on the way up before sunrise. Off the boot pack would be a stumble-fuck w/o floatation.

skipped the slowshoes and glad I did. threw on the 'pons at the last of the trees.
