robertjoy
I am planning to spend the last week of June packing in to Lake Ediza (Shadow Lake Trail)and climbing Mt Ritter and Clyde Minaret. I'm wondering how the snow level looks now. Can the trail to Lake Ediza be fully melted out by that time?
johndavidjr
National Weather Service "Winter Storm Warning" posted for that area during past couple of days. Probably to expire Friday.
dhrmabum
I'd say,(though it's been years since I've been there, and can't remember what the winter snowpack was like), that the trail should most likely be snowfree, though there could be a lot of snow around Lake Ediza, given the snowpack this year. Hope that makes sense.
chris
RJ, The snow level is around 10000 and melting fast, especially on southern aspects with lots of exposure. The road to Red's is still closed. I'd expect some snow amongst the trees and around Shadow Lake, but still be OK with it right now. As long as the temperatures remain at or above normal - like they are right now - you should be ok.
