BirdDog Posted May 10, 2010 Share Posted May 10, 2010 Trip: Mt. St. Helens - Worm Flows/Monitor Rodge Date: 5/10/2010 Trip Report: Skiied St. Helens on Sat. May 8th. Road to Climbers Bivouac gated and closed. Left Marble Mtn. Sno-park @ 6AM, walked about a mile to skinnable snow, reached the crater rim about 11:20. Skied down starting at noon. First few turns were a few inches of dust on top of hardpack with marbles. After that it great until turning to sloopy near the tree line. Snow was hard on the way up, softening up quick on the down. Fun trip! Back at the car at 1:20. I'll add some pics when cc.com upload thingy cooperates. Gear Notes: Ski crampons useful. I didn't have 'em so I booted up between 5 & 6K.
