WELCOME TO THE CASCADECLIMBERS.COM FORUMS   02/03/18

We have upgraded to new forum software as of late last year, and it makes everything here so much better!  It is now much easier to do pretty much anything, including write Trip Reports, sell gear, schedule climbing related events, and more. There is a new reputation system that allows for positive contributors to be recognized,  it is possible to tag content with identifiers, drag and drop in images, and it is much easier to embed multimedia content from Youtube, Vimeo, and more.  In all, the site is much more user friendly, bug free, and feature rich!   Whether you're a new user or a grizzled cascadeclimbers.com veteran, we think you'll love the new forums. Enjoy!

Randonee-VS-Mountaineer boots?

Recommended Posts

If you are a snowboarder you should probably stay out of the mountains. Look at the avy stats -they're usually 2/3 snowboarders. This is b/c snowboarders are mostly dumb. There are a few exceptions of course, but I see so many snowboarders ride 50* slopes on their heelside edge whilst pissing their pants that I think I must be kind and warn you that you will probably die unless you learn to tele ski. Tele skiing can only be done well by people who are wise and in tune with the mountain, therefore they are less often taken by an angry snowgod.

Oh yeah, to answer your question. I have some Silvrettas on 160cm Dynastar 4X4s that I use with my leather La Sportivas. If you really know how to ski you'll notice that it is done with your feet, not your ankles. If you need big boots and 'lots of buckles you are a gaper, not a skier.

Somehow Zeno-idiot I don't think you are wise or in tune with anything. I picture you as more of a jackass loose in the mountains and on the web. [Moon][Moon][Moon][Moon]
