I don't blame the "druggies" nearly as much as I blame the idiotic legislation that makes the drug trade so lucrative that people are willing to kill in order to maintain or extend their control over small parts of that trade. Blaming the drug consumer for the gang murders in Mexico is like blaming the drinkers for all the mob murders that occurred under prohibition. The problem then wasn't the drinking: it was the criminalization of drinking. The problem now isn't the smoking: it's the criminalization of smoking. As happened with Prohibition, eliminate the criminalization, and most of the problems would be eliminated, too.

Arrests for Prohibition Las Violations: INCREASED 102+%

Arrests for Drunkenness and Disorderly Conduct: INCREASED 41%

Arrests of Drunken Drivers: INCREASED 81%

Thefts and Burglaries: INCREASED 9%

Homicides, Assault, and Battery: INCREASED 13%

Number of Federal Convicts: INCREASED 561%

Hemp was one of the most profitable comodities in the world for centuries. Then one day, someone figured out that it would be even more profitable on the black market.

Dingbats and drivelLords make these laws.

The outcome is violent crime over money.

At least the pharmecutical companies don't control it. Then the Reblicons would be behind it 100%.

solo aiding in the damp, damp, damp

i find opining on another man's drug is a lot like opining on another man's god - it's your businness whatever silliness you want to believe in - just leave my gas tank alone, eh?

its ironic that you deplore the fascist banishment of dissidents but enthuisatically accept the show trial/speedy execution concept - kinda pick'n'choose'n' from the salad bar of state? :)
