      We have upgraded to new forum software as of late last year, and it makes everything here so much better!  It is now much easier to do pretty much anything, including write Trip Reports, sell gear, schedule climbing related events, and more. There is a new reputation system that allows for positive contributors to be recognized,  it is possible to tag content with identifiers, drag and drop in images, and it is much easier to embed multimedia content from Youtube, Vimeo, and more.  In all, the site is much more user friendly, bug free, and feature rich!   Whether you're a new user or a grizzled cascadeclimbers.com veteran, we think you'll love the new forums. Trip: Mount Rainier - DC


Date: 9/12/2009-9/13/2009


Trip Report:

with the resent snow and stellar forecast decided to give Rainier one last quick summer hoorah. took a buddy up for his first glacier climb.


late season route length with mid-season conditions


with weather breaks should be in good through Sept.


ok snow up portions of the cleaver but gad i hate scree...i dont think i can do even a partially melted out cleaver again


couple fun sections on the traverse to the Emmon's shoulder


summit temps were chilly but bearable...prob chilled up there for an hour and a half...then back down for food


over all the slog to Muir was tedious...the route was in pretty good shape with all the snow

the regular stuff and ear plugs for the hut...some people just dont have a clue
