shaoleung Posted April 14, 2009 Share Posted April 14, 2009 I'm looking at investing in some ball nuts for harder/thinner trad lines. I am comparing Trango's Ballnutz and Camp Ball Nuts. The only real difference is that the Camp #1 appears to be significantly stronger than the Trango #1. What makes the Camp #1 so much stronger? phillygoat Posted April 14, 2009 Share Posted April 14, 2009 As far as I know, they are made in the same factory. Trango lists the #1 as rated to 4.5kn. Camp doesn't list specific ratings, but the header suggests 8kn. Finally, Mountain Gear lists Ballnutz as: Strength (kN): 4.5 (1, blue); 4.5 (2, red); 8 (3, gold); 8 (4, green); 8 (5, purple). Since we're on the subject..I've used my a lot but have never fallen on one nor used one for aid. Are they very difficult to clean once weighted?
