WELCOME TO THE CASCADECLIMBERS.COM FORUMS   02/03/18

We have upgraded to new forum software as of late last year, and it makes everything here so much better!  It is now much easier to do pretty much anything, including write Trip Reports, sell gear, schedule climbing related events, and more. There is a new reputation system that allows for positive contributors to be recognized,  it is possible to tag content with identifiers, drag and drop in images, and it is much easier to embed multimedia content from Youtube, Vimeo, and more.  In all, the site is much more user friendly, bug free, and feature rich!   Whether you're a new user or a grizzled cascadeclimbers.com veteran, we think you'll love the new forums. Enjoy!

Mt Baker condtions?

Recommended Posts

I am curious about condtions on the north side of Mt Baker. Does anyone know where the snow line currently is and how much new snow is on the glacier? Is floation necessary to get to Colfax right now?

Thanks,

Dan

Baker from Shuksan last weekend. I would think you'd be able to ski most of the way down to the trail and perhaps a bit down it right now, depending on how much you want to scratch your skis.

Flotation is always preferred :)

Ya I think you did. You must have been the guy bouldering around the seracs? I was the one with the orange pack and rope you saw first. Well, you didn't miss out on anything that great up there. 3rd time would not have been a charm.
