Alpinfox
I'm thinking that perhaps this could become a sticky thread in this forum. If you are searching craigslist or ebay (local PNW listings) and see someone trying to sell climbing/outdoor gear that seems suspicious to you, post it here with a short description and maybe the owner will recognize their stuff and be able to contact/maim/prosecute the thief and recover their gear. DRep
I kinda want to meet this deusch! He's from south seattle too - definitely stolen gear.
goatboy
There's no way of knowing where he got the stuff. Easy to assume it's stolen. I think we're all angry and paranoid about meth-heads ripping off stuff, but not every person selling gear they're unfamiliar with is a thief. Having said that, "ice shoes???" It sure seems suspicious. Someone should send Big Lou down there to S Seattle....
goatboy
I kinda want to meet this deusch! He's from south seattle too - definitely stolen gear. Could you explain the correlation between S Seattle and why it's definitely stolen gear?

needtoclimb
Have the cops investigate what? That someone is selling stuff on craigslist? The police need a reason to investigate, i.e. someone stating that it is their stolen gear being sold.

Sounds like they don't know what they've got, didn't post a pic, and ask for "cash only". It's on whidbey. Anyone lose anything at Erie?
