WELCOME TO THE CASCADECLIMBERS.COM FORUMS   02/03/18

We have upgraded to new forum software as of late last year, and it makes everything here so much better!  It is now much easier to do pretty much anything, including write Trip Reports, sell gear, schedule climbing related events, and more. There is a new reputation system that allows for positive contributors to be recognized,  it is possible to tag content with identifiers, drag and drop in images, and it is much easier to embed multimedia content from Youtube, Vimeo, and more.  In all, the site is much more user friendly, bug free, and feature rich!   Whether you're a new user or a grizzled cascadeclimbers.com veteran, we think you'll love the new forums. Enjoy!

DO YOU ALSO POST AS MOSES! ?

Bill my son, please never confuse my charming satire with the mindless drivel of that migrant mexican.

I like guns, women able to bore me many sons, and the GOP. In that order.

The 'right of passage' rules are written into the CMP at Beacon. As a multi-pitch crag, people leading have right of way over those TRing. Pretty simple and common sense. At single pitch crags it's bit of a different story, but even a modicum of common sense and politeness would dictate not tying up a pitch this way for a long period of time.

This past Saturday Beacon was pretty quiet with no regulars around, but there was a party with a TR up on 'Little Wing' which probably wouldn't have flown long on a busier day - ditto for TRing the first pitch of the Corner.

I always thought having a conversation with ones self to that degree was a sign of losing it... esp when you are insulting yourself…

Hi Mark,

I believe I saw you on saturday in the bluffs. I thought I recognized you from the WCC slide show you gave last year (??). Apparently you guys just made the wrong choice of routes. We climbed nothing but short approach 5 star (bourdon) moderate routes all weekend and waited in line only once.

Mosquito - 10 min wait

Phlegmish dance - 0 min wait

Wonderland - 0 min wait

Neat and cool - 0 min wait (entire crag was empty after we finished)

Exasperator - 0 min wait

Seasoned in the Sun - 0 min wait (well except for the rain squall we let pass)

Merci Me - 0 min wait - we bailed cause of wetness

Peasants route - 0 min wait - wet at start

Centerfold - 0 min wait

I think we just got very lucky with crowds.

I find it interesting that topropers are such a problem. I must not crag enough or not at the right places.

I've definitely skipped more routes I hoped to lead because a leader was taking for-freaking-ever to get up them than I have because people were toproping them.

It is entirely possible to climb in Squamish all weekend without being a herd mammal, and never have to wait in line.

have to agree, even Index is like that, there's quite a few climbs just as good as the popular ones, just a short ways off the beaten track.
