Remember that healthcare was affordable before the HMO act of the 70s.....

Or before the drug companies became embedded in Washington.

Or before the huge string of laws considering what health insurance must cover.

Or before excessive litigation caused doctor's malpractice insurance to go through the roof.

In the 1960s, there was such a thing as a charity hospital where doctors would work one day a week alternating to provide care to the less fortunate. That ended when they started getting sued and required to follow all the administratium from Washington.

Remember, over half of your healthcare cost is covering things caused by Washington. So we expect the same people who are causing our healthcare costs to skyrocket to fix the problem by adding in more intervention?

Exactly. Big Government meddling has screwed us and gotten us where we are today. So the solution is... more Big Government meddling?

And have democrats not considered what will happen if they get their national healthcare system, then the Repubs get back in office? Another big government program to use to funnel money into special interest groups (big pharma), the same way that has been done with farm subsidies to big ag, military spending to defense contractors, etc, etc, etc....

And once the program is established, it will be there forever, no matter how screwed up it is. Good for the Democrats and their M.O. of buying votes with handouts through a system of dependency on government programs. Good for R's for the reasons you state above. Bad for America.

Ever wonder what a feedback loop in an echo chamber sounds like?

Perhaps you should acquire a helper monkey. He could watch the screen scroll by for you, do a better job of spraying by random key presses, jack off, and throw shit against the cube wall all at the same time.

Speaking for myself, if we could all get an assistant like this, they're would be no need to television. Sounds entertaining.

The take away here is that the surest sign of a true loser is someone who bestows that status on a frequent basis. This is a person who can't keep his eyes on his own plate, which may explain why he hasn't noticed that the rest of us have left a steaming pile right in the middle of it.

Does this includes everyone posting on spray? The biggest loser = most amounts of posts per day I'll bet?

"Health care is a right, not a privilege"

You're complete full of shit as usual. Do you even know one real root cause for America's higher cost of health care that's supported by any evidence? Even one?

Bad legislation is not 'big government'. It's 'bad government'. Big Government, that is, lots of employees, lots of bureaucracy is Big Goverment, numbnuts. And it's not always more expensive than it's privatized alternative. Need I mention what we've overspent on private contractors in Iraq?

American's pay more for health care primarily because doctors make more and hospitals and drug companies charge more than other countries. Many doctors get paid by the procedure, so go figure. Yes, legislation did play a role in this situation, but it's not at all clear (and probably not true) that a government run system would be more expensive than today's system. What certainly played a role is a conservative philosophy that has favored business interests over the general welfare for the past 40 years. Just for fun:

Brief Washinton Post editorial

By way of example, France, certainly no bastion of 'small government' arguably has the best healthcare system in the world in terms of coverage (100%), quality, and cost per person. It is a national system administered by private hospitals and doctors. You'll find similar systems throughout Europe that provide better medical care for about half the cost of care in the U.S. So much for your 'big government' schtick.

The truth huts, doesn't it Prole. Socialized health care is a lose-lose for America.

Well when you use the term "lose-lose", it certainly raises some doubts in my mind. And when Alkoholeke suggests moving towards a police-state is a "win-win", it really gets me to thinking. And then, when you're able to smear anything that has to do with the government as "Socialism", I think you might be on to something. And then when Pee-Pee tosses in some statistics from an obscure think-tank, it makes me go hmmm... Then when....

When did I do that Prole? I am curious. Your little mind is only capable of seeing black and white... maybe blue and red. I challenge you to tell me what you think should be done to combat illegal drug trafficking, terrorism, human trafficking, black market weapons, medications ect. What would you do if you were Emperor? Besides walk around naked.

he'd bury a bunch of "rich" folks in unmarked graves, and turn a lot of churches into museums.

I'd accelerate your checkpoint program to include 24-hour surveillance of all "citizens". Suspend the 4th Amendment indefinitely on the basis that we are being invaded from within and without by brown gun-toting, drug-dealing, slave-holding, generic-Viagra peddling terrorists. Immediately begin Project: Fuck Russia Hard. Immunity for life for all military personnel. Start work on a Super Soldier Serum. Drill, drill, drill...

I agree that everyone needs to work.....but what does that have to do with healthcare? That is the problem.....you are tying in working with healthcare. They should be separate.

So, you would like other people to work for free so that you can exercise your "right", but you don't have to work? That's fucked up. How is healthcare (that is, medical services which carry a cost) a "right"? Who gives up the "right" to the labor and education of healthcare providers without payment?

Living is a right. You would think so if you were the one on the death bed with no money.

Name one pressing issue, foreign or domestic, that has been solved through reasoned discussion on CC.com's Spray Forum.

I am not trying to solve any. I just challenge you for good old fashioned shits and giggles to validate your argument. You have failed to do so; instead only trying to gain a foot hold by attacking mine. You are still slipping kiddo.

Living is not a right, but rather a lease given to us by Nature.
