lunger
depending on weather in L-worth, might end up at the coulee this wknd. can't remember when last there. searched and turned up dated stuff. Qs: 1) still need a parking permit? guessing yes, those posts not quite as dated. anybody been cited recently? 2) can you camp behind the Feathers? Where are the good spots to camp within a decent drive? thanks for any info.
olyclimber
here are some stupid vantage answers: you still need a permit. have parked behind the feathers in the past year and not gotten a ticket, and saw others do this as well.

bwrts
its not going to rain in Leavenworth that much...and there is always the beloved favorite of cc.com, The Peshastin Pinnacles... IF you buy a salmon license you get a parking pass with it.
Hendershot
There is no such thing as a stupid question.... The local grocery store that is listed in the Frenchman's guidebook doesn't carry the permits/ passes anymore. I had to go to True Value in Quincey a couple years ago. Last year, just bought the fishing parking pass at Joes (formerly GI Joes) before i headed out there. Although I have never seen anyone get a ticket. ZONK
I dont think the Game Wardens who write tickets are working many weekends this year, kind of hit or miss Mrs G does not want to pay over time. But watch it on weekdays.

fenderfour
dumb vantage answer: chop it the permits can be purchased anywhere that sells hunting/fishing licenses. get one before you go to make it easier
TeleRoss
There's no such thing as dumb questions, just dumb people....I've never had a permit and never gotten a ticket in 4 years of climbing there. There's good camping between the feathers and the parking lot. Edited May 9, 2008 by TeleRoss
