I'm wondering what conditions are like, and if I should make a go at the next good weather window (with a reasonable avy forecast) or not. Spencer Posted April 16, 2008 Share Posted April 16, 2008 Trip up to Muir last weekend without snowshoes was interesting coming back down along with a few others up to my knees the last 3000 ft, A Ranger said, she knows of only one group to make the summit recently on the Gib Ledges route, she said they skied up and down,she seemed to be dissuading me from trying as she pointed out these were professional level skiers, she also said one group tried the DC route without success, on my way down I talked with a very ambitious group who was determined however no one in the group had made the summit before during winter conditions.
