tomtom
If they can hold a myriad of classes on this crag that should free up Classic Crack Mountaineers Dome so RUMR can finally get his pinkpoint. Corrected your typo.
willstrickland
After all the trash talk aimed their way on this board, I'm sure they'd love to open the place to all users. Given that it's a publicly owned facility, who gives a flying fuck what they'd love to do, that ain't their decision to make sparky.
builder206
Yes it is. The agreement worked out with the city gives them 100%control over the interior of the building and primary scheduling control over access to the exterior climbing wall. Try again. willstrickland
As you yourself said, it was the city's decision. Not that you have anything to worry about, I wouldn't get within a hundred miles of these wankers.

tomtom
It looks like they are installing some rad fourth class lines. The outdoor wall was designed for teaching beginner Mounties climbing technique, so the walls are pretty slabby and well featured, even without holds. There are a couple nice hand and finger cracks, though. The boulder may be a little more interesting.

Peter_SS
to bash is so fun! When I was in search and rescue they were a running joke. There would be a report of 1 group of 10 missing and some how two groups = 20 or so would be found. In their defence, I am glad to see city folk trying to enjoy the out doors. willstrickland
Yeah Matt, it was out of place, I assumed it was in spray. But I do loves me some Mountie bashing.

CollinWoods
Oh wow willstrickland , is that you with the red helmat (must be from your personal pics, huh)...? Any ways it might be a cool place for learning proper setup of bigwall aid. Edited October 9, 2008 by CollinWoods

In my experience (King & Snohomish counties), most people in SAR and/or mountain rescue are either mounties themselves, or act very "mountie-like." And speaking of "enjoying the outdoors" I see a lot of rolly-polly SAR guys who don't EVER seem to get out, except on missions.

Layback
As you yourself said, it was the city's decision. Not that you have anything to worry about, I wouldn't get within a hundred miles of these wankers. The misrepresentation of the climbing program by posting pics from a Eugene Mountain Rescue FT and a Mountaineers Scrambling FT (both of which have nothing to do with the climbing program) is a really classy touch. Are you ignorant of where those photos come from or are you just looking to cause problems? i need at least a season to prep for that thing... I suspect you'll need more time than that. Just out of curiosity, are you the fat guy or the goofy dork with the big nips in this pic?
Cobra_Commander
I love how strickland can produce those on demand. He must have the original masters stashed away. It's like having vinyl copies of The White Album. That photo of EMR contains several good climbers with solid resumes. I believe it's a climbing safety event in Eugene they put on as a public service for nearby residents.
