WELCOME TO THE CASCADECLIMBERS.COM FORUMS   02/03/18

We have upgraded to new forum software as of late last year, and it makes everything here so much better!  It is now much easier to do pretty much anything, including write Trip Reports, sell gear, schedule climbing related events, and more. There is a new reputation system that allows for positive contributors to be recognized,  it is possible to tag content with identifiers, drag and drop in images, and it is much easier to embed multimedia content from Youtube, Vimeo, and more.  In all, the site is much more user friendly, bug free, and feature rich!   Whether you're a new user or a grizzled cascadeclimbers.com veteran, we think you'll love the new forums. Enjoy!

Thinking about a hike up to Camp muir on Sat.

As for what route this summer, I don't know yet. I have two newbies for my Army unit that want to go. I perfer to go with some more experience climbers, but can't just shuck them aside. So I was looking at two teams. So if you guys are still interested I can use all the help I can get.

Anybody thinking about heading up this weekend for a quick overnight? Conditions don't look great - "Cloudy with a chance of snowshowers" Saturday night, but I thought I'd ask...

I'm interested. I'll be at Mt. Rainier on July 2-7. Looking to hook up w/ a partner, or partners up that standard route from Paradise.

Let me know please.

I am big time interested. I'm 34 and have hiked many high elevation hikes all over the NW, but I have never climbed to the top of a REAL Mountain. Summits are cool, but I need a mountain. When ya looking at doing the climb????????????

A couple of my buddies are going to try and get up to Camp Muir this Sat. If you are still looking to climb this summer come on out this Sat for a walk in the snow.

We are headed to Rainier Saturday for a quick go over of some basic mountaineering and crevasse rescue. Should be a easy hike up to a close by cornice. If you want to join in shoot me an email for time and link up location

I'm interested. I should start getting weekends off soon too. Are you active army? I'm at Lewis and would be interested in meeting some other soldiers to climb with.

Joe Ranger pm sent. Anyone looking at making a summit bid this weekend/into next week? I am out in the area and haven't been able to find anyone yet who is up for some climbing. Looking at doing the Kautz route, or maybe Gib ledges.

I might be in for that. I was actually supposed to do the Kautz glacier with my partner on June 20th or so but he ditched on me and I still really wanna give it a shot. I live in Arizona and am trying to find a way to head up there. Interested in that route at all?

Millertime, check the next thread up in about June 18-20. I'd prefer not DC route. What's your experience like?

That is assuming the weather turns for the better. It may be into next week before the next realistic opportunity.
