plexus
Got my first one about six years ago. It lasted nearly five years before it was getting rather wrinkled and untrustworthy. Since then I have gone through three of them; my third developing a slow leak from an indiscernable hole near the nozzle. Anybody else having these problems? Did they change the thickness of the plastic on the bladders in the past few years, because I abused my first one?
olyclimber
I would ask them yourself. I'm sure they would like to hear about it. http://www.platypushydration.com/contact_us/email_customer_service.aspx?RightNav=ContactUs&Inside=2 I have one that has lasted a long time. plexus
I did just that and my email got bounced back to me. I just find it odd that one can last five years and then I have gone through three in two years; the last one not even lasting four months and not with hard use either. woodchips
I don't know if they changed them, however they do have a lifetime warranty. Just mail the leaky ones in, and they'll send you brand new ones.
northvanclimber
i had one blow last year and won't touch 'em anymore. my camelback just seems a lot more resistant to leaks (maybe because the plastic doesn't crease over time...) studklimer
I just started using an msr dromedary. i like it much more than camelbacks, platypus, or any other brand of hydration system. With an insulated tube, it works great for everything I use it for. Just my two cents.
jlag
I second the MSR, the thing is bombproof. summer, winter, whatever. JL

ClimbingPanther
Anyone have experiences with the "nalgene" brand? I want one 'cause it hooks in to my purifier. I've had a platypus for ~4 years sans problems (unless you count difficulty of preventing it from becoming a popular microbial habitation) and as far as taste goes, yes platypus is relatively tasteless while my fiancee's camelback tastes plastic-ish Edited November 19, 2007 by ClimbingPanther
mike1
The MSR dromedary IS bomber!
DRep
dromedary bags are sweet and they hook up to the msr waterworks and miniworks, along with the new katadyne vario, filters just like a nalgene would.

Biggest POS I have ever owned! Constantly either leaking or coming undone while snowboarding.
