WELCOME TO THE CASCADECLIMBERS.COM FORUMS   02/03/18

We have upgraded to new forum software as of late last year, and it makes everything here so much better!  It is now much easier to do pretty much anything, including write Trip Reports, sell gear, schedule climbing related events, and more. There is a new reputation system that allows for positive contributors to be recognized,  it is possible to tag content with identifiers, drag and drop in images, and it is much easier to embed multimedia content from Youtube, Vimeo, and more.  In all, the site is much more user friendly, bug free, and feature rich!   Whether you're a new user or a grizzled cascadeclimbers.com veteran, we think you'll love the new forums. Enjoy!

Beacon trail closed

Recommended Posts

I was told today that the trail up Beacon was wiped out by a huge falling rock. Hope nobody got hurt.

I gues a huge part of the trails hand rail is all mangled.

That will take some time to fix.

thinking of heading out there tomorrow. Anyone hear of an update on the trail status? It's not essential to get down via the trail but jsut wondering where the slide occurred.

came down the trail y-day - it'll be another week i'd imagine? several huge boulders smashed a bunch of stuff out but they're obviously hard at work fixing it up - i'm curious to see what becomes of the big rocks that are now fixed in the middle of the path

The actually drill, pack, and blow up anything big. They general have to do it at least once per year. They've already moved quite a bit though Erik didn't give me and ETA.
