You saying men can't cook ,clean or look good in a black dress? Why I never took you as such a chauvanist!

BTW Archy you should really learn how wonderful simple household help can be. Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free.

More like why buy the pig when I can get the sausage for free.

What I need money for is bc skiing #1 and climbing #2. When I started thinking about making money for my real interests I figured I should try and get a job as close to those interests without being a guide.

My long time job has been that of an arborist which means pruning, removing, cabling, and planting trees; it also means you need to know stuff about tree biology etc. In addition it means you know how to do your job without fucking up customers property, or at least trying not to fuck shit up.

After hurting myself on the job I now work as a consulting arborist. That means I evaluate trees for risk to people and property, I also appraise trees for their monetary value, and I advise folks about how new construction will effect their trees.

I've had some time off, and I am now just beginning to make money again.

It is apparent to me that climbers are generally the hard science type. Many people I meet or climb with are some flavor of engineer, physicist, chemist or biologist. It'll be interesting to see whether this thread agrees...

I'm a almost done with my undergrad in Pre-physical therapy.

I have noticed that many climbers are into science, as well. Climbers are typically pretty smart people.

Maybe science people are into climbing because it involves paying attention to details? Also, most people at Western WA Univeristy who are science majors are also the ones in the best shape. Maybe because they enjoy the outside (and are studying it) so naturally they go outside, exercise, and enjoy it. So precision, detailed work, love for the outdoors and healthy people mean potential for good rock climber?

Just some thoughts on that..

Purchasing.

I said I was in purchasing - I've talked with two vendors today that told me they couldn't get their orders to me because the items I was ordering were in their San Diego warehouses, and they were closed. I just wondered if they were even still there.

Got an email from another vendor saying don't count on your order coming on time from California...

Then the lab technicians come yell at ME when they don't get things... "What do you MEAN the warehouse and the employees homes burned to the ground? I need these tubes!"
