I'm working through some scotches right now (Glenlivet 15/oak, and Laphroaig 15yr). I'm just starting on brandies, which I prefer for desert of course. Got some Armenian stuff (Yerevan 5star) which is tasty, as well as Greek Metaxa (7 star) which I don't like as much. When I get through one of these, I'll probably pick up some fine French cognac or armagnac. Â I've never tried cigars other than an occasional cheap one. Any rec's where to start? It was at a new year's eve party and the host insisted it compared with $50 French cognacs in terms of quality and taste (it runs $20 or so). Â I've heard scotch doesn't go well with smokes.
