Oregon Ice Climbing?

Hey all,

I'm currently in the Northeast where there is no shortage of good ice climbing, but there is a pretty good chance that I'll be moving out to either Seattle or Eugene by next fall for grad school...

Seems like the NW has been having a good ice season this year, but what's it usually like? More specifically, what would ice climbing options be around Eugene (since Washington seems to have relatively reliable ice)? I'm not just talking waterfall ice -- what would be the closest setting to get in some alpine sticks?

Any info would really be appreciated since I may be weighing my options soon!

p.s., I know you guys have bigger mountains, and I can't wait to get on some real alpine routes -- so there's no need to flame me for being an East Coast boy...
