We have upgraded to new forum software as of late last year, and it makes everything here so much better!  It is now much easier to do pretty much anything, including write Trip Reports, sell gear, schedule climbing related events, and more. There is a new reputation system that allows for positive contributors to be recognized,  it is possible to tag content with identifiers, drag and drop in images, and it is much easier to embed multimedia content from Youtube, Vimeo, and more.  In all, the site is much more user friendly, bug free, and feature rich!   Whether you're a new user or a grizzled cascadeclimbers.com veteran, we think you'll love the new forums. Enjoy!

Trip: Central Oregon - Da Chutes

Date: 1/16/2007

Trip Report:

Spent the last 4 days out at this spot. Finally found the easy access to the steeper lines. Lots of N. facing aspects to keep the powder nice and soft. Warmed up a bit yesterday so the E. facing stuff got a bit dense. Climbing up the ridge to gain the chutes was ICY. My friend got the poons and i got a tool. Easy after that.

Had the entire bowl to myself on Sunday and then back out there yesterday with a friend.

Gear Notes:

poon' and a tool

Black Bush- if you don't know go find some.

Approach Notes:

Sled ride with a 40 minute skin to the top.DSCN19301.jpgDSCN19221.jpgDSCN1923.jpgDSCN1921.jpgDSCN19171.jpgDSCN19102.jpg
