The Hood River County Sheriff's Office said the family has received an outpouring of support from around the world, including numerous requests to donate money. The family wanted to help because the search cost was roughly $5,000 a day and the sheriff's budget for search and rescue for the year was about $14,000. The fund has been set up at the US Bank in Hood River. Donations can be made at any US Bank branch in the United States, sheriff's officials said.
