WELCOME TO THE CASCADECLIMBERS.COM FORUMS   02/03/18

We have upgraded to new forum software as of late last year, and it makes everything here so much better!  It is now much easier to do pretty much anything, including write Trip Reports, sell gear, schedule climbing related events, and more. There is a new reputation system that allows for positive contributors to be recognized,  it is possible to tag content with identifiers, drag and drop in images, and it is much easier to embed multimedia content from Youtube, Vimeo, and more.  In all, the site is much more user friendly, bug free, and feature rich!   Whether you're a new user or a grizzled cascadeclimbers.com veteran, we think you'll love the new forums. Enjoy!

Hand Taping for Rock Climbing

Recommended Posts

if you make a fist, tape the wrist close to the hand, it will provide some extra support when gripping, thus taking pressure off the tendons taking away the pain, at least i have found that in other sports too.

tape.

is.

AID.

I saw a guy once hiking up the Slesse Memorial trail and he had these elbow-length tape gloves, I could tell at once

a) he was an American

b) he was gonna end up bivying

And if you see someone heading up the apron trail with tape gloves you may as well decide to follow them one pitch behind, as it is guaranteed you will booty at least two brand new cams.

Many athletes tape their wrists to help relieve/prevent wrist sprains and tendonitis. You should research online, or see a PT to find a good taping technique for this.

I did a quick search, and I found several websites detailing proper taping techniques for wrist sprains and tendonitis.

My $.02.

Good stuff; both entertaining and informative. I was originally wondering about wrist support, but the crack taping techniques were good also. I'll put 'em to use this week on the cc.com flavors of the month bigdrink.gif
