Alright JayB if you like those suggestion and there is only one CD that you will buy for the next year, you need to buy 13 & God. I am not one to listen to a CD over and over day after day, but this one I can not stop listening to. There are influences of classical, jazz, hip-hop, electronica, alt rock and spoken word all wound together for one CD that really needs to be several hour longer. thumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gif

I just went on a shopping spree when I was back so here is a couple of other suggestions.

*Peeping Tom (Mike Patton and others, not too chill but very cool)

*Dan the Automator-Wanna buy a monkey

*Gnarls Barkley-St. Elsewhere (Danger Mouse and Cee-Lo)

Are there any music geeks out there? Anyways what I am looking for is the songlist for Ninerain - Choice (It is a compliation of there only two in studio recordings). If any one can help it will be greatly appreciated......And yes it is chillout music very cool jazz from Mexico, by I think mainly Belge players.

I am being totally serious when I tell you that Gary is a music geek. He geeks more on classical, but might be able to help you find this jazz recording. PM him, he'll help you out.

good luck with your search! bigdrink.gif

Chirp say:

consider myself to be pretty uber into chillout/ambient/downtempo and these are my picks for some fine stuff, some common and some not so, but really nice variety tho. Good choices in the above posts, its nice to see some recognition of an oft ignored genre.

Tipsy

Dub Trees

Younger Brother

OTT

Shpongle

Steve Roach

Inlakesh

Kruder & D0rf

Thievery Corporation

Zero 7

Cafe Del Mar Series

Older Autechre: Incunabula (my fave, Bass Cadet)

Synesthesia: Ephemeral

Sven Vath: Touch Themes

Raindawg say:

I've never heard of even one of the pudknockers listed above. Do these guys "perform" during talent night at the community college and then one of their girlfriends sells the home-made CD's after the show? Garage bands? Like Joe's?

"We could jam in joe's garage

His mama was screamin'

His dad was mad

We was playin' the same old song

In the afternoon 'n' sometimes we would

Play it all night long

It was all we knew, 'n' easy too

So we wouldn't get it wrong

All we did was bend the string like...

Hey!

Down in joe's garage

We didn't have no dope or lsd

But a coupla quartsa beer

Would fix it so the intonation

Would not offend yer ear

And the same old chords goin' over 'n' over

Became a symphony

We would play it again 'n' again 'n' again

'cause it sounded good to me"

Dawg you gotta get out of Joe's garage sometime and listen to music. Hell most of the bands that Fairweather listed you can buy in almost any CD store.

Arch thanks for suggestion, after a couple of days I was able to locate the songlist. I am not sure if you could buy a that CD anywhere since there was only 1000 standard copies made and additional 300 collectors copies.

so basically, he's like that 'Nilla Ice dude?

Holy crap that was funny!

chillin tunes with good guitar? David Gilmore's solo work, Pink Floyd's Wish you were here, and to lighten any mood in any environment....The Sean O'Neil Band's Irish Pub Songs!!! (It's pretty tough to be angry, irritated, or depressed when listening to an irish fiddle and a drunk guy singing about "O'Connor's daughter who don't know the taste of water," or some redhead named Molly Malone)

Who dares to speak of Donegal

You get kicks in the bars and kicks in the balls

The harp that played in Tara's halls

Is burning on the dump

Virginia is a gin town

Belturbot is a sin town

And all the boys from Skintown

Are in England on the lump

Got pissed in Letterkenny

With darlin' sportin' Jenny

Spent me very last penny

And we made it in the press

The husband caught me in the bed

Tried to shoot me in the head

Had to swim the stream to get

The Donegal Express

Kahaya! You fuck!

Come Hell of high water

I might have fucked your Missus

But I never fucked your daughter

Fol-diddle-dee-ahhh
