BackCountryPunk
Hey, Has anyone been up towards Gold Bridge & the Hurley River Road lately? Hoping to get up towards Sloan next weekend and am wondering if I have to take the long road, or if I'll be able to make it over RR pass in my van. peas
According to bivouac, the Hurley is open.
jordop
Tonnes of snow, good time to hit up Sampson from RR Pass or similar
fishstick
The road was opened a couple of weeks ago (the Friday before or the Saturday of, the long weekend). Single lane traffic at the top of the pass due to 1.5m of snow. Â GB
BackCountryPunk
Is it down to the dirt, or will I be slip slip sliding on snow & ice. My van is in need of some new treads.....
fishstick
I think you'll be OK. Parts of the road still had perhaps 6 inches of snow (it had been plowed with care using a cat), but a grader was due to clean things up early the next week. BackCountryPunk
Cool, thanks. The weather looks shite, so I'll leave it for a week anyways.
G-spotter
Since you are so FAST can't you just dodge around the raindrops?
BackCountryPunk
I'm fast, but I don't move in bullet time.
tobytortorelli
It's all clear and melting very fast. My buddy drove it the day it opened in a low 2-wheel drive. We drove it again last weekend. 1 meter of snow at pass. Good, smooth skiing snow above the Sephamore Lks. elevation.
