MountaingirlBC
Seems to be the best of a lot of bad forecasts so some of us are heading down in hopes of a few breaks in the weather and check out the Rockfest (http://www.featheredfriends.com/rockfest/2006/poster.gif). Where's a good place to camp? I've never car camped down there so I have no idea.
bigbro
I'm not going this year, but I was working at the event last year. There is free camping at the group site at the bridge creek campground. I think directions are on the feathered friends web site. If you plan on partying into the early am, this is a good place to be, if not, you'll want to be well away from the area because of the music. It is a really good/fun event and easy to meet people to climb with. I wish I could go this year but, I have other obligations. Have fun! AlpineK
I'll be there with one other Saturday evening unless it's raining at Index on Saturday. We may check out the party. On Sunday we're going somewhere where you have to hike a bunch. Â Sorry I wont spray about camping in a public forum.
MountaingirlBC
We decided to wimp out and get a hotel room. Would appreciate any recommendations for good routes in the 5.6 - 5.8 lead range or up to 5.11 sport/toprope. Actually I could really use a few good toprope recommendations as I'm bringing a couple of new climbers with me.
G-spotter
Send Scot'teryx a PM he knows all about the good toproping in Leavenworth and has pictures
scot'teryx
Am I the toprope king or something?
still_climbin
Try Givler's Crack. Its two pitches with a couple 5.8 moves the first pitch and a 170ft single 5.7 crack to the top, all on steep flawless slab. Only downside is the 1500 ft. approach in the sun in July.
