AlpineK
If Rainier is in the Olympics then we are in deep shit when it erupts and all the ash hits Seattle.

Duchess
too bad you didn't go for it (rainier) this week--four straight days of beautiful, clear, dry weather...
al
We got to Muir hut Saturday and eventually it filled to capacity. We were to do the Gib route and others, the Ingraham direct. There was even a party camping up at the beehive. But 3am Sunday was howling whiteout and we all crawled back in the sack. Everyone returned to Paradise later that day. Only one strong climber on Friday did a solo summit up the Gib route, enjoying perfect route and weather conditions.
KeithKSchultz
Yeah. Nice weather until Friday night. A lenticular formed about 9PM and was followed by a little snow. Not bad up to 11000 but it would have been white out conditions above. There was probably some serious cross loading above the chute. But I saw it all from below so I don't know jack.
