faster_than_you
IMO, this is the best pagetop. Better than the American or Canadian pagetops... And I've taken all the pagetop courses... I even have third party pagetop timers to back me up.
cj001f
Nothing like avalanche training to bring out a good pissing match. It's an interesting phenomenon. It is. You should try decanting it as a new weapon of evil - maybe crossbreed the strain with some beacon arguments and a little AT vs. Tele action. Add into it a health sense of Canadian inferiority and you'd have a real weapon on your hands. Arguments without data. Woohoo! I'm bettter than you! Dechristo
A nice webpage with links to conditions, forecasts, and instruction for all of North America (excepting Mexico), Europe, and New Zealand. http://www.avalanche.org/
acceber
The American Alpine Institute (out of Bellingham) offers quite a few Level 1 classes each season, they also do backcountry ski courses.
islandclimber
The best avalanche training is to go out backcountry snowboarding or skiing and practice riding them down. Once you ride a few big ones they're not so bad anymore... Almost pleasant and enjoyable with a nice mild adrenaline rush.
